Preventative Care Services

Cherokee Hills Veterinary Hospital embraces a focus on preventative medicine based on the specific life-stage of your pet. Each patient is assessed based on  individual factors such as, species, breed, age, and environmental challenges. After the assessment, we offer tailored recommendations for disease prevention, nutrition, and diagnostic work-ups appropriate for your pet.

The key to Cherokee Hills Veterinary Hospital Wellness Program is an emphasis on the annual health examination. Each year your pet should receive a comprehensive physical exam and age-appropriate diagnostics (such as a bloodwork,  parasite screening, or supplementary diagnostics) to screen for early signs of disease. Vaccinations are given based on age and individual risk factors.

Our role is to educate you on those procedures and medications which are especially beneficial for your pet. This allows us to be more flexible with our recommendations, and gives you more control of your pets' healthcare.

Laboratory & Diagnostics

Cherokee Hills uses a wide range of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to manage the ongoing health of our patients. Our in-house laboratory includes the most up-to-date equipment available for fast and accurate diagnostic test results, allowing us to quickly and accurately diagnose medical and emergency conditions affecting your pet.  We also have an extensive list of diagnostic services available to us through our outside laboratory, Idexx, and the system is internet-linked allowing us to easily share diagnostic information with various specialists, in the event a referral is needed.

Radiology (X-ray)

Our facility is fully equipped with digital radiology technology, allowing us to perform rapid, high quality radiographic studies. We are able to quickly acquire digital images which we share with you both verbally and visually. The internet linked system also allows us to quickly forward the images to specialists for review, if necessary.

Surgical Services

At Cherokee Hills, we understand just how stressful it can be to bring your pet in for surgery. We work hard to ensure that each surgical experience is as stress-free as possible, both for your pet and you. Our highly skilled veterinarians perform a broad range of surgical services while always adhering to the highest standards of care. Our well-trained staff is also on hand to assist our doctors, monitor and ensure their safety and comfort at all times. We want you to feel confident that when your pets are in our care, they are in caring, capable hands.

Dental Services

Dental procedures are performed under anesthesia, include scaling (to remove dental plaque and tartar), polishing, and dental x-rays. We have innovative dental radiography as part of our comprehensive dental prophylaxis procedures, to allow us to evaluate the health of the jaw and the tooth roots below the gum-line, where most dental disease occurs. Periodontal disease affects more than just your pets' mouth, and early detection and treatment are critical, because advanced periodontal disease can cause severe kidney, liver, and heart muscle changes.
